Marco Crescenzi

PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Marco Crescenzi, physiotherapist at Peak Vitality Healthcare in Victoria, BC

Marco holds a Specialized Honours degree in Kinesiology and Health Science from York University and completed his Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Western Ontario in 2013.

Since 2011, Marco has been an active member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, including the Orthopaedic and Sports Divisions. His approach to physiotherapy emphasizes treating the body as an integrated system. He utilizes manual therapy, targeted exercise prescription, acupuncture, functional dry needling, therapeutic taping, and other evidence-based modalities to correct muscle imbalances, treat musculoskeletal injuries, and optimize physical performance.

Marco has a special interest in concussion rehabilitation, a passion that stems from his own experiences with multiple concussions while playing competitive sports. This personal connection has driven him to complete extensive training in the latest research and clinical strategies for mild traumatic brain injury. He has also completed advanced vestibular rehabilitation training, enabling him to treat conditions such as vertigo and dizziness effectively.

He is a Certified Acupuncture Practitioner through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and is certified in Functional Dry Needling by Kinetacore. Marco is also involved in athletic therapy, and has worked with semi-professional sports teams, including the Westshore Rebels junior football team.

Marco’s treatment philosophy is rooted in education and empowerment. He believes that patients who understand the cause of their condition are better equipped to actively engage in their rehabilitation. An active treatment plan, he maintains, is essential for long-term recovery and performance.

He continues to pursue post-graduate education in manual therapy, exercise science, postural correction, and the management of complex musculoskeletal disorders, ensuring that his patients receive the most current and effective care.

Outside the clinic, Marco stays active with strength training, rock climbing, road cycling, snowboarding, hiking, and golf. A former competitive athlete himself, Marco played AAA hockey with the Toronto Redwings and lacrosse with the Mimico Mountaineers. He also enjoys photography and writing music in his free time.
